financial copilot
What is a financial copilot?
A chatbot tells you your balance. A copilot pays the bill. The difference is the ability to execute, with your authorisation, inside the same system that holds the funds, and it is a much harder thing to build than a conversation.
Answering versus acting
Almost every bank now has a chat window. Ask it to send money and it will explain which menu to use. That is not an assistant, it is a help page that types back.
A copilot resolves who you mean, works out the amount, checks the funds, states what it is about to do, and does it once you approve. The work is in the resolution and the authorisation, not the conversation.
Authorisation is the hard part
Anything that can move money must be impossible to trigger by accident or by someone else. Every action a copilot takes is confirmed by the user before it happens, authenticated the same way a manual payment is, and written to the same ledger with the same audit trail.
Voice adds a specific problem: a voice in the room is not proof of identity. Confirmation for anything that moves money is deliberate and explicit, and the copilot states the recipient and the amount back to you before anything happens.
What people actually ask it
Send an amount to a named person. Pay the electricity. Buy airtime for a number. Split a bill between friends and chase the ones who have not paid. Show what was spent on transport last month. Move a sum into savings each payday.
These are not exotic requests. They are the ordinary business of a household, and each one currently takes several screens in an app the user did not enjoy learning.
More about financial copilot
What is a financial copilot?
+
A financial copilot is an AI assistant that can act on your money, not just talk about it. A chatbot answers questions about your balance; a copilot sends the transfer, pays the bill, splits the cost with friends and tells you what it did. The distinction is the ability to execute, with your authorisation, inside the same system that holds the funds. Lazervault’s copilot works by voice and chat, and every action it takes is confirmed by the user and written to the same ledger as a manual payment.
Can I send money by voice?
+
Yes. You can say what you want in ordinary language, such as sending an amount to a named contact, and the copilot resolves the recipient, confirms the amount out loud and executes the transfer once you approve it. Voice works in English and several African languages, which matters for users who are more fluent speaking than typing.
Is Lazervault a bank?
+
Lazervault is a financial technology company, not a bank. Accounts, card issuing and payment settlement are provided through licensed and regulated financial partners in each country it operates in, and customer funds are held with those partners. Lazervault builds the AI-native layer on top: the copilot, the money graph, and the voice and scan interfaces.
